History

Theta Chapter Founders of 1926 Cortland Normal School

“The Theta chapter was installed in Cortland on February 13, 1926, and the sorority incorporated in 1927.  The house at 45 Church Street, formerly the residence of Dr. Francis J. Cheney, the second Principal of the Normal School, was purchased. The sorority was at a disadvantage in that at this time there were no alumnae to call upon for financial assistance.

… 1949, the sorority purchased the Chester B. Stilson house at 64 Tompkins Street.”
